With the help of my brother, I have been researching our family history on Ancestry.com and worked my way back several generations. But I have a gap on the “Wright” side of the family that I must fill. I do remember traveling as a child to see some of my father’s relatives in North Carolina but I have not been able to find that link on Ancestry.com. To skip a few steps, I have signed the ‘family’ up for DNA analysis through Ancestry.com after some research online about companies that do such work. I expect the sampling kit to reach here in a week or so and I will turn that around ASAP. I think it takes about 90 days for them to report out the results and so about the beginning of April, we should know something. If this works out well, I’d like to get David and Stephanie to do the same thing (I see no way that C would cooperate in this venture 🙁 . I think it will be interesting to see where our distant ancestors originated so I will finally know if the Wrights were from Irish or Scottish stock.
